Assigment 2 ~RIP~
Alhamdulillah...today is the day we pass up the assignment 2.
This assignment is about using and manipulating 2 videos to be used in the classroom. The first video is the compulsory video, The Earth Song by Micheal jackson. Then, we can choose 1 video according to our preferences and also have to be manipulated to be used in the ESL classroom.
Then, today Puan gave us our assignment 3. It is about doing lesson plan for 4 different days, according to 4 different skills. The date due for the assignment is 14th of October, after the Hari Raya holidays. We have to do 3 lesson plans of 1 period, and the other 1 lesson plan of 2 periods. I have a little bit confusion regarding the time of each period. Because, as far as I know, 1 period is equal to 30-35 minutes only. But, for these assignment, 1 period considered as 40 minutes and for the 2 periods lesson plan, we are going to make a 80-minutes lesson plan.
Other than that, we also learn something new today. Puan asked us to explore Microsoft Publisher. Actually this is not my first time using Publisher. Before this during chemistry class, we have to prepare the notes using Publishers. So we have afew tasks to do, for example name card, pamplets, poster and book cover. We have to do this in pairs.
Another thing is we have to do the newslater 'olok-olok' using Publisher. We are going to do this in groups of 5 or 6. Besides that, another one is we have to prepare power point presentation based on the notes given. We are going to present it nextweek.

4 skills task
This week, we have to do the teaching materials according to the 4 skills. We are going to do it in group of 4. My group members is Ai Choo, Hafiz and Nur Adila.
I took the listening skill. I don't know wether what I did is correct or not, but I tried. Have finished it and uploaded it on adec already.
Now, I am ready to get going with my 'Michael Jackson's task'.

I feel so glad with the fact that our 2nd assignment had been postponed. Thank you very much to Puan Foziah for her mercy. Now, I feel better to work on my Michael Jackson and my cute elephant video clip.
I found that, the Michael Jackson's video clip is quite hard to be exploited to be used in the classroom. This is because when I watch the video clip, I realize that the video is full with deep meaning, that is what had happened to earth is because our own fault. When I go through the lyrics, it also need 'the third eye' to understand the phrase, such as 'what about killing fields', 'the crying earth the weeping shores' and 'the heavens are falling down'. However, I admit that the message brought by the video clip is very crucial. The song is also good and enjoyable. The video is quite funny at certain part heheheh...
The idea of using Michael Jackson's songs in the classroom reminds me of my school years. My teacher used to used 'We are the world' song in my class. I tried to find its video clips...

Application of knowledge!
Lastweek, all of us were so busy finishing the 'so you think you can dance' and practising the skill such as, butchering the videos, extract the sounds, the pictures and not forgotten the excercise task, creating a video clip.
Tiring yet exciting, the experience gone through is priceless, as I have the oppurtunity to learn new things. And softwares too. While finishing the videos that we were suppose to do in pairs, most of us were at the village, enjoying the holidays. Luckily, I'm not going back, so that I can spent some time helping Izyan to submit the 'so you think you can dance' DVD to Puan Foziah, also to finish my video clip task.
Hafiz and I did not do it in a day, but we took some times to finish it. After we planned how we are going to do it, we go out to town with the camera and take some suitable shots. We walk around the shoping complex, find suitable scenes and at some point, one of us will act!(to suit the requirements of our video)
The next day, we tried to do the clips using the pictures and videos we got. But, wait...Didn't we need some sounds for the background music? Hmmm....then, I spent some times to go through over my old CDs and also try to search it on the net.
Then only we get started. See the product on youtube entitled 'Teenaga Life'.
Now, we have different task coming on. We have a few, that is Mickle Jacson video clip, and another optional video clip. And Just now, we got another task that is regarding create teaching activities according to 4 different skills. We are going to do it groups of 4.
I hope, I will have ample time to finish the task and I can do better in this task. Good Luck everybody!
